Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Ordering and Shipping

When will my order ship?

Our shipping days are Monday and Tuesday.

We only ship on a Monday or Tuesday because of the perishable nature of our products. Shipping out later in the week can lead to product sitting in a post office over the weekend, which can lead to melting or other damage. Also, all our orders are made fresh so we need time to actually create your order!

Please factor in your order being sent the closest following Monday/Tuesday, plus the length of shipping option you chose. For example, if you ordered on a Friday and chose 2-Day shipping, you may not receive your order until the following Thursday (it would be sent on a Monday/Tuesday and then the 2 additional days for travelling).

We appreciate your patience, and promise you'll be glad you got something delicious that was made fresh, especially for you!

Can you ship chocolate during warm weather or to warmer parts of the country like Florida and California?

Yes, we can and do, however, we cannot be held liable for chocolate that arrives melted. We do our best to avoid this happening (we pack in dry ice, time shipping, make sure packaging is well insulated, etc) but we recommend contacting us directly at chocolate@thetrufflecottage.com if this is a potential concern for you. We don't want to disappoint anyone, but we also unfortunately cannot account for the Mailman abandoning it on a step!

Do you offer same-day shipping?

Not at this time, though we do offer local pick up options for residents in Utah that can come to our kitchen.

Can I just come to your store and order?

Absolutely! Visit our store at 45 S Main St, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. Our current business hours are 11am - 7pm, Monday through Saturday.

Care and Storage

How long will products keep their fresh taste?

Chocolates and Truffles will maintain freshness after opening if stored at temperatures that do not exceed 65°F (18°C).  Avoid heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. For freshness of unopened products, we recommend keeping them in similar conditions no longer than 60 days.

How should I store the chocolate if I want to keep it fresh tasting for more than two weeks?

To store chocolate for up to two months, place package in two plastic bags, close tightly and refrigerate.

Allergy Information

ALL of our dark, milk, white chocolate and truffles are processed on equipment that also processes Milk, Soy, Peanuts and Tree Nuts.

Some products do also contain nuts and you should contact us directly if you are unsure about a specific product.

Damaged Items

While this tends to be a rare occurrence, it does happen from time to time with chocolate eggs and items advertised as breakable. Because of the perishable nature of food we cannot accept returns. However, we will offer a partial percent return on your item. If you are not ok with possibly receiving broken chocolate and only receiving a partial monetary return; please contact us prior to ordering.

Custom Orders

Do you do custom order?

Yes! We regularly create custom products in varying shapes and sizes. Our services range from completely custom chocolates and truffle with custom molds and flavors, to branding with corporate logos, to personalized gifts. If you can dream it, we can likely make it. Email or call for more info.

Wedding and Party Favors

How far in advance should I place my favor order? We recommend that you place your order about 8 to 10 weeks before the event and select a delivery date of one week prior to the event. Rush orders can sometimes be accommodated, email chocolate@thetrufflecottage.com for more info.

Do you offer volume discounts? Yes - the more you shop, the more you save. Call or email us to discuss bulk discounts.
